Birth Certificates

Birth records can be extremely useful when trying to locate living people as well as when researching your family history. Our researchers use birth records to locate people and to confirm that they have traced the correct person.

We can locate birth certificates for you and do so in our detailed family search. Of course there is no point in seeking records that will not prove useful. Here is a short summary of what will be on a copy of a birth certificate.

  • The name
  • The registration District of the birth
  • A Reference Number
  • From September 1911, the mother's maiden name

When we conduct a search for family members where contact has been lost we often use birth information to locate people.
